Finally sharing my birthday pics from 6 SEPTEMBER! 🥳🎉🎂 Like most of this year, for the very first time ever, I had NO plans for my birthday - zero/gucci/nada! No flights ✈️ or Oceanside 🌊vacations booked, not even dinner! If you know me, you’ll understand how strange this is coz I be booking flights way in advance 😭 So I had initially planned to go to Tulum then fly to @womanevolve conference. But around August, I started to accept that God had a different plan for me this year. And I’m soo grateful, because God is good. Even when we get tired, he keeps on going - planning and working for our ultimate good. God doesn’t forget his children, he doesn’t slumber nor sleep regardless of what the circumstances look like! Reflecting on the past 31 years of life, I realise that I’m finally living a life I don’t feel the need to escape from🥹 I’m so grateful to be alive and to WANT to be alive, I can’t believe I made it! 🥺 So many of my cousins and aunties died when I was a young girl in Zambia in the 90’s so truthfully, I never thought I’d make it so far. I thank God for never giving up on me, and thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday - I was overwhelmed by the love I received from you guys🥹🫶🏿 and especially my friends who made the day so special and @eden_fabulous_flowers for the best surprise and making me cry😭 You are an Angel! 😇 And Happy birthing anniversary to my muse my beautiful mummy @suwaview thank you. You have been an incredible mother and I wanna be just like you when I grow up!🥰 (see how my dress is a copy of hers?! 🤣) SEPTEMBER BABIES WHERE YOU AT!!! EXACTLY 11 months ago today, I embarked on a journ EXACTLY 11 months ago today, I embarked on a journey to Jamaica 🇯🇲 for the first time. Thinking I was going to celebrate my birthday and launch my book; The Purpose Journal. But God had a different plan. What I thought was the beginning of my Purpose empowering work to serve talented people like you, was actually the beginning of a totally different pathway for me: a journey of HEALING. Lol. Jamaica gave me a gift that I didn’t even realise I needed, and the past 11 months have taken me through various stages of healing. Healing is rough and uncomfortable and draining. It takes so much energy, and I didn’t even realise I was going through it until one day I broke down in the middle of the night crying because it dawned on me that I’d never given myself space to cry, to be a victim or to recognise and acknowledge my pain. It was hard, but I was so happy to be free, to understand why I was so restless and overzealous in my ambitions at times. And my therapist was so happy too loool (it took many hours of therapy to get here 😅) Sometimes we don’t realise that we are going through something that’s asking more of us. We’re used to giving and proving ourselves constantly that we don’t know how to stop without feeling guilty. When life goes differently to how you planned, you tend to question your worth, your ability or if you’re good enough, BUT you are good enough, and whatever life is asking of you right now is only A PART of your story. If you allow yourself to be present in this part of your story, you will see how it ties together with the purpose in which you were created and you’ll learn what God is trying to show you. That you ARE enough. Jamaica surrounded me with love everyday. I met the most wonderful people just filling me up with love, care and concern for free lol. It was a spiritual experience that triggered my journey of healing. There’s no shame in being broken, Broken crayons colour too 🥰 and I hope you can join me in this journey of seeing the beauty your colour brings to the world, even if it’s a little rough round the edges.
