This healing journey has had me unpacking everything, starting with the idea of where self-worth comes from… Many of us haven’t heard the phrases ‘you’re worthy’ or ‘you’re so deserving’ as we were growing up but it doesn’t mean that you are not those things. If nobody taught you your worth as a child, it’s not too late to teach yourself. Hearing it and believing it are two different things though, and I’m speaking from experience coz woiiii learning to see yourself how God sees you (precious, fragile, tender, irreplaceable, PRICELESS 💎) that takes real work esp if you’ve had a difficult childhood or experienced any kind of trauma like me. Do you feel guilty for resting? I can relate babe Do you feel guilty for resting? I can relate babe 🥹 For SO long I felt soo bad tbh I still struggle with feeling guilty from time to time for prioriting my rest. Learning boundaries with yourself and then enforcing them with others can be one the most difficult things you’ll ever do esp as an (ex or current) people pleaser 😩 One thing that helps me is remembering that I wasn’t put on this earth just to be a productivity machine. Your value doesn’t come from doing, doing, doing all the time. You are a human BEING and resting is a part of being. So next time you start feeling guilty remind yourself that rest is a PART of your human experience!
